    Galant Engine Classes

I inherited my 8G from my wife December 08' so I am I still trying to become familiar with my vehicle and other G's. I plan on having my car for years and hopefully in the next 5-6 years park it and do a complete restore. I have done some searching, but have spent to much time trying to learn the different engine sizes and classes (i.e. 4G64) for the G. Can someone give me a quick synapsis of the different engines and upgrades.

    Thanks,:)

You can do numerous things to upgrade your car for better whp ect. As a start you can get an CAI, which is a Cool Air Intake. The CAI can be purchased from anywhere 30$ (Shitty) to 200$ (Awesome). Start out with setting a goal of what you want your 8g at. Have you got anything in mind?

I am planning in the next several months to get a cold air intake and catback. I was more interested in the different engines and Turbo upgrades that can be swapped for a 4 cylinder 8G, the acronyms such as 4G64 and what they stand for. I don't plan on upgrading my engine or swapping my engine for sometime but was just curious so I know what everyone means when they post.

    Thanks

4G64 is an engine code for mitsubishis 2.4L 4 cylinder engine.
a 4G63 is an engine code for mitsubishis 2.0L 4 cylinder engine.

The 4G63 is used in the Lancer Evo you can use many parts including the turbo from the 4G63 to upgrade the 4G64

Before i strarted building my engine I had so many ideas of what I wanted to try with my 8g. First i was ganna put a 3000 GT engine inside, than i found a Galant TT vr-4 engine in the US and thought hey let me try this but that would of been bad if anything would of went wrong...than the idea of an Evo swap. If I had just alil more money and another 8g i would deff try that project..that would be hot.

not to my knowledge.. i dont imagine it would be too difficult to get the 6 speed out of a 4g eclipse in there... i believe that's what the Ralliart concept had when it first came out

anyone find me a totaled 4g and i wouldnt mind being the first lol

i 9G ralliart with a 6 speed...i might have to get a 9G now. Do an AWD or RWD swap and you have me sold.
