depends on the brand...if your boost goal is in the nearer future i would get an upgraded clutch now however if it is not for a while or you are unsure, then get an oem clutch or similar.

Ok so ive decided to go with the OEM clutch from a 3g. I will buy it new unless i find one with low mileage.

I dont see any reason why you would put an OEM clutch in the car. There are so many other options out there. Why not get a ACT street clutch or a spec street clutch. They will have more torque holding capacity than stock and feel just slightly stiffer.

Sounds like you have a good start on this swap so far rev. I am going to follow your swap as I want to do the same here soon. As far as the choice of clutches go, you really don't need to upgrade to an aftermarket one if you don't plan to boost the car say until later in the year. If you are looking to boost the engine over the course of the summer months then I would suggest it as a better investment now to buy aftermarket.

I'm going with the exedy since I don't know how to really drive stick and I don't wanna ruin an expensive clutch

I would've bought the one from Rockauto but I was told not to use anything besides OEM.

FYI, non OEM TOBs are just fine. OEM clutches are just fine for non boosted cars. A Fidanza 2.1 kit, ACT 2100, or some other streetable clutch is good also.

the TOB that came with my ACT EVO clutch kit was an OEM bearing, we laid the new one side by side with the old OEM one and they have the same markings and part#'s etched into them.

thats where I got it your thread about your TOB losing it.

I think Seth mentioned TOB's should be OEM but dont quote me on that.

The Fidanza ran on the GS + the 2G and it's still fine. I've installed auto part store TOBs without them failing also.
