    02 Tailight Backup Clearing

Hi everyone, I recently came across with a 02 tailight . I look around and found that the backup section of the light came with the removable mesh shield. And I thought that will be nicer to remove it and see thru the back up light bulb. I did it , and it came out really nice. Its not really hard to remove that mesh shield actually. Pictures are below:

in process of removing the mesh shield

removed mesh shield tailight backup , nice and clear

    removed mesh sheild pic

Have fun all the 02 owners

i dunno but have u guys actually taken out the taillight and look at it closely? im pretty sure manus didn't have a tutorial to do this, maybe u can figure it out without a tutorial. it doesn't look overly complicated. to me it looks easier than clearing your corners

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

Yeah, the whole clear part of the 3rd generation JDM tails have that same red mesh. I didn't like that at all, so that's why I got the 2nd generation JDM tails instead. I was thinking of opening up the 3rd generation JDM tails and taking the mesh out or painting it black, but I decided against it. From the looks of the pics above, you can just pull the mesh out of the '02-'03 tails from the bulb hole, I don't think you need to open the housing up at all.

hey I never knew that, but I have JDM's so I guess that doesn't matter anymore, but I will let anyone else know who asks.

The mod is pretty easy, u need a 10mm socket to remove 3 nuts behind ur tailight . Then un twist the backup bulb out (Notice: DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB) Then use ur nature born tool !! Your Fingers, slip em into that socket hole to see if u can pull loose the mesh. Once its loose, u can use a piler to pull it. Slowly i recommanded, cuz the top and buttom piece is double side taped onto the housing. Therefore , u need to pull it out good and not left the tear off piece. Once its loose in the backup housing. U can either squees the mesh to fit into the backup light socket hole or cut it in pieces inside the housing and use a vaccum to suck it all out. After that put ur backup bulb on or change it to hyper white. Then u are done.

Warning: you can not put the mess back on once you remove it,, here is some tip,, take the mess out from the bottom,, up and do it really slow,, if you try to cranks it,, it will leave some of the mess in there,, and you gone have hard time taking that out,, here is some picc
