yea transmissions haven't really gone down in price it seems

locally they were around $650 for approx. 60,000 miles almost 2 years ago, and they haven't really gone down since

Been reading up on it and from what I understand, getting sportronic from an eclipse wouldn't be worth the effort right? Just a thought, but could the ecu be flashed to adjust shift pionts? I've decided to keep the auto at least for now. It's been real hectic latley, maybe in the next few days I'll post pics of the 74 install.

Haven't got the engine pics off of the camera yet, but I came across this the other day:

I think that's what I'm gonna do with the exterior instead of a paint job. Anybody have any experience with this stuff?

That will be a big PITA if you do it yourself...

A friend of mine did vinyl wraps for a while and he said he'll help me out if I need. The way he was talking I wasn't expecting it to be overly difficult.

The Galant valve cover looks better anyway (as long as it's not the 3.0L one)

I'm still a little undecided about what I want to do with the 74 before I put it in. Since at least for now, I'm gonna stay automatic, I'm thinking maybe a supercharger in the future.

Just be careful not to put down too much power with the automatic without a transmission cooler. The V6 auto's don't like the extra beating.

Yeah the more research I do, the more I'm leaning toward looking for a 5 spd.

I also had considered getting a port and polish for my heads, but I think getting a set of 6g75 heads would be less expensive and a better upgrade since they would flow better anyway. Suggestions?

You'll get wayyy more airflow with the 6G75 heads than you ever will with any ported 6G74 or 6G72 heads. I don't quite remember exactly what you need to modify for the 6G75 heads to work out (something with the distributor), but if you check out boostzealot's build thread on galanttuners.com you can probably find out.
