Manual Shift Nob on an Automatic!

I figured out away to put a manual shift knob on a automatic transmission for the 8g's.
I am not sure if it will work for 7g or 9g.

    TOOLS:
    -razor blade
-manual shift knob(make sure it fits around the neck of the shifter: not too loose and not too tight.)
-i didn't get a ball type shifter but a elongated manual shifter.

    STEP 1:
remove the old bulky shifter. (i destroyed mine)

    STEP 2:
cut the plastic stem to your desired height. (i chose to cut mine 1 inch above the top of the metal neck.)

    STEP 3:
slip the manual shift knob over the neck.

    STEP 4:
take for a drive. (to shift: simply press down on the entire knob and move back and forth to change gears)
