well i guess its about time i answer some questions. lol (sorry ive been driving for two days in the galant and getting great mileage BTW, more on the trip later)
Martin, the next step will be trying some different heads and playing with another ECU to try and get her to rev to 8k. that will sound sooooooo crazy i know. but stay tuned.
Kev, i know orlando (the photographer) pretty well and he and i were toying around with the idea of sending some pics to Jason (tunerzine owner) to see what he thought. Jason pretty much said, heck yeah and it went from there. pretty cool group of people to tell you the truth.
Dave, the Star Specs are freakin great....when they are warm. other than that they are a pretty noisy tire on the highway but cruise great. in light rain, nothing to worry about. in heavy monsoon type shit, dont go over 65mph with these, those big tread blocks like to try to float. really though, all in all, a good tire for daily duty and weekend canyon carving. i think ill try some advans this next time around (ado8's)
thanks again all of you for taking a look at the spread and commenting here. it means something when some of the guys that started this give you compliments on the job you and yours are doing. there were only a few hands in this car getting where it is and they know exactly who they are because i thank them all the time.
CONGRATS...BRO... and its nice to heard how u r hitting the 200whp with out turbo kit....
just a simple question..can the 4g64 i4 reach those numbers with out turbo kit?!?!?
My Mk4 is like a Black Hole you enter in it and who the hell knows what'll happen next???
I sure don't, do you?
Congrats your Car is f*cking Nuts!!
i hope you've got deep pockets. the thing is with the 4g64 is its got a long stroke and doesnt like rpms very much. for an NA 4cyl you almost always require a motor that has the ability to rev to the sky (like at least 7k). if you were to practically re-engineer the 64 you could probably get this type of power but it will require heavy tuning, itb's or very effeciently tuned intake mani and tb, high compression pistons, cams, headwork, and a very very good lubrication system. take a look at what Bisi Moto did with the F22 he built for the Castrol Top Shop Challenge and you'll see virtually what it takes to build a strong NA 4cyl.
Love the G and the pictures
I know I'm late man, but congrats!
