    "Carbon Fiber" Paint

I have a guy here that paints in look like carbon fiber, I really think this looks good. Did someone have experience this? $160 for the Hood and if other stuff are painted he will deal...

Here some pics of his work.

All it is is a black painted hood, then they put a mesh over the hood and spray a silver/grey. i had a buddy that experimented with it, from afar, it looked like real cf, but when you really looked at it, it was obvious it was fake.

they did this on one of those shows that used to be on t.v. (Spike, TLC, Discovery may Pimp my Ride... I'm not sure). Its a technique you need to perfect with practice but you probably wouldn't want to do a large item without a lot of experience. You will need

    black spray paint
    dark silver spray paint
    clear coat
    red scuff pad
tool cart drawer liner... that black kinda plastic stuff that is a really small checkerboard pattern

    1. spray the black paint as your base coat... let it dry completely before moving on
    2. lay the drawer liner down to form your pattern
    3. spray the dark silver down over the liner
    4. before the silver dries completely, it should be tack use the red scuff pad to kind of smear the paint just a little
    5. allow to dry completely and clear

Why go fake instead of the real thing?

    That'd be rice, wouldn't it?

Haha I agree on that one.

Can we make an executive decision to call it rice?
