Nice lil touchup on my CF hood

i know alot of people were asking me about resurfacing and cleaning up my hood due to the SERIOUS oxidation on it before, so last weekend my friend and I were working on the hood...

shot after the first coat, looks 100x better already!!

after the second coat, waiting to dry...

the first "wetsanding" was with 350 grit sand, we didn't get a chance to do the second sanding (2000 grit paper) and third& fourth coats due to the random downpour last night

here the result we're at now.

we'll probably get the 2000 grit paper and 3rd & 4th coats on before the meet Saturday, hopefully it doesn't rain one of these days

i have a few more shots of the hood while at lunch at work, will post them later tonight.

big thanks to 90crxfreak for helping me with the project.

p.s. shots were taken with the LG envTouch, pretty damn good quality shots for a 3.2MP phone

    thanks!
i remember you, Carl, and my friend were yelling at me to get it fixed, and most of the supplies were from Autozone Home Depot, didn't have to pay a mechanic $400+ just to get a clear-coat on. So glad i finally did it :D

yeah, it was only two of us
350 grit sandpaper to get the first old clear-coat off
2000 grit which was to get the imperfections off the first new clear-coat
4 cans of paint ( i bought 3, but i know i'll need another one)
and alot of time for drying..

i'd might as well make this a tutorial right?

I'd rather have the knowledge and ability to do it than the money to buy it already done.
