Trunk lip with light

Does any one know where to find a trunk lip spoiler like the M3 one that has a brake light in it? I have seen it about a year back but cant find it. On that note... does any one know if it is illegal to remove the wing on the gtz that serves as the middle brake light?

They used to sell this on ebaymotors few years back. there was one floating there that was an actual JDM trunk lip designed for an 8g galant but no more. To answer your 2nd question, no it's not illegal to remove your spoiler why do you think the spoilerless owners rely on their 3rd brake so often? If your's didn't come with one, you can get it at the junkyard for cheap and installation is not difficult.

Which one? would you have a pic as an example. And as far as taking the spoiler off it shouldn't be illegal because you have a 3rd brake light anyway.

as far as I'm aware, GTZ's don't have the third brake light because the spoiler served as one?

^^ You're right, if I remember right too, the cars that came with the spoiler from the factory did not have the third brake light behind the rear glass. The connector is there though, so you can add one on. As far as I know, it is illegal to drive with only 2 working brake lights in MD, but you usually can get off with only a warning if it's only a bulb.

My car came with both third brake lights from the factory. But I took the spoiler off cuz it blocked the view from the mirror often.

P.S. Most M3 lip spoilers are rubber anyway, so you can always drill into and mount L.E.D.s onto them. Just tap into the brake light harness.

don't you have an I4? or did you previously have a GTZ?

his spoiler was probably installed by the dealer, that's why he had both

^^ yea that's what I was going to say. When my mom bought the Galant back in '99, she had the dealer install a spoiler for her so I have 4 brake lights, and I always forget to disconnect the one behind the rear glass haha
