8g Galant with 2g Eclipse rims

    Hello!

I can't seem to find a way to search through garages effectively, or find an area of just uploaded photos.

Is there a way to do this?

What I am really looking for it 2g Eclipse rims on a 8g Galant.
Anybody want to post them up?

which 2G wheels are you referring to? I have 3G Eclipse GT wheels, but I'm pretty sure they are also 2G wheels
    here's some pics:

I am specifically looking for 2ga 16" eclipse wheels.
(that way my tires swap right over. I am just looking for something better then the steelies with hubcaps)

The ones you have are the 2gb eclipse 17" rims.

The wish I would have kept the pair I had on my Talon when I sold it; but oh well, I can get these things for next to nothing.

the 3G GT wheels are different from the 2G GSX wheels. People oftenly mistake them as the same wheel, but they are quite different.

    These are the GSX wheels,

they have a polished lip as opposed o the 3G wheels that don't.

The spoke designe has a slight difference also.

    this is the 3G wheel,

    ohhh nice observation
I have seen 2 piece 3G wheels too on my friend's 3G.. not sure on the spoke design though. And they are not one to go put on 2G GSX wheels

anyway back on topic, I am POSITIVE someone has 2G wheels on their 8G.. just can't remember who. Was it Kylecanthurdle?

i think Q's from Canada had it on his old G. But he was kitted up and the car didnt look that good.

Kyle has stock GTZ and MR7's iirc.

What type of lug nuts do you need to get these on a 8g galant?
I bought the eclipse lug nuts but they did not fit correctly. Now my rims just sit.
Do I need to custom modify some eclipsenuts?

You need OEM Mitsubishi lug nuts for those wheels to fit.

    Good idea! lol.

    This is my set-up. 16x6 2G GS-T Chrome 5-spoke off of the 2GB GS-T and Spyder 225/50/16 BFG KD (F) 225/5-/16 BFG KDW (R)
    15mm bolt-on spacer
dropped on Tein SS-P. I had to use the OEM lug nuts because the spline lugnuts were too small for the lug holes on the wheels.

Gives it a nice unsuspecting OEM look IMO. You WILL HAVE TO roll the rear if you go with the same spacers and tire size. Stock tire size is 205/55/16 so the 225/50/16 is a few mm short.

Here it is without the 15mm spacers. They're hellasunk.

You wont need to roll the fenders without the spacers but the fronts will rub the inside sidewall if you're at my height.

I went and bought lug nuts at the auto part store (the shank type) and they bottom out before they tighten the rim to the car allowing the rim to shift around, thats with a washer on each lug.

It looks to me that there is a fat washer that consumes the hole on the rim where the lugnut meets rim, there is a flat area around the holes on the rim where one could sit. If so that would explain the rim not tightening down. If not then I just got lug nuts with too long ofa shank.

Do you guys with 3g eclipse rims use some type of washer/spacer?
Should I just shave off some shankageon the lugs?

Hello everybody, I just got a 99 GTZ. Always was a Honda guy but I gotta say I love this freakin car! I found this thread searching for different types of stock rims that fit the Galant. I see the Eclipse rims work here and there but I'm looking for more. Anyone know what other stock alloys fit the car? I want stock's so I can keep the performance while getting the new look.

    Thanks!
