    Galant 7g E88A

    Hi everybody,

    I searched about galant 7g E88A but i cant find a good things about it cuz i think this car is rare , i just know the engine of this car is 6G73 ( 6 cylinder 2500 cc ) with 160 HP on 4WD/4WD .

    is the driveshaft and rear subframe , bushings , coil overs , axles as same as E84A ( galant vr4 7g ) ?

    if there is anybody know anything about this car please let me know ASAP cuz im really curious about this 7g galant .

    is the dimension of driveshaft as same as galant 7g E84A ? cuz this galant only handle 160HP compare to 240HP of 7g vr4 E84A ?

    Thank you for your time.

    I'ld like to know more about this E88A - up until now I never knew they used the 6G73 in the 7th gen Galant! I'm guessing it's the SOHC24V motor? Any pics of the engine bay would be cool.

    Dammm i never know about that G.

    This what i found from diffrent sites

    6G73

    Applications

    * 1995–2000 Chrysler Sebring
    * 1995-2000 Dodge Avenger
    * 1995–2000 Chrysler Cirrus
    * 1995-2000 Dodge Stratus
    * 1990–2002 Mitsubishi Diamante
    * 1992–1996 Mitsubishi Galant
    The 6G73 displaced 2497 cc. It was a 24-valve SOHC design with 2 valves running off one cam lobe, with a smaller bore than the 3.0 liter version of the same block. Bore and stroke were 83.5 mm × 76 mm (3.29 in × 2.99 in); it was a 60-degree V6 and weighed around 155 kg (340 lb). The engine had low-profile cast aluminum heads which helped it to fit into small engine bays, while pent-roof combustion chambers increased efficiency and made room for four valves per cylinder, arranged in a cross-flow pattern with a "tumble" intake port for both strong breathing and low emissions. Spark plugs were centered in the combustion chambers. The intake valves were 33 mm (1.30 in) in diameter while exhaust valves were 29 mm (1.14 in). A toothed timing belt was used.[2]

    I think the best engine for our cars is 4g63 Turbo cuz we can do anything that we want , plus we can find parts , fast and easily .
    If you wanna enjoy your 7g and make the fun in the street use FWD with 4g63 engine and modification for about 400 HP and then you can feel the good street car . i built the 7g FWD for one of customer with alot of parts last season , his turbo is FP3065 ,SHEPTRANS Transmission stage 2 with quaife LSD , Driveshafts stage 5 axles , HKS 272 cams , port polished head , ETS 3" intercooler kit , DSMlink V2 , FP manifold , Wastegate 44mm , Magnus intake manifold , JE pistons, Manley Rods, ARP head , ARP main , 1000cc injectors with double 255 walbro intank , etc.

    I just wanna buy this 7g E88A cuz its 4WD and its good to change the V6 2.5L engine to a perfect 4g63 engine with complete wiring harness with V3 dsmlink and NEW HTA FP3586 turbo and stage 3 buschur block, stage 3 buschur head and knock the door of 600 HP for about 9.5-9 Sec quarter mile.

    wow 160hp is quite weak indeed, the jap spec E54A with the 2.0 6A12 DOHC makes 170hp and the DOHC MIVEC ones make 200hp. The F13A and F15A Diamantes which have the 6G73 DOHCs in them make about 175hp. It would be cool to put a 6G72 DOHC twin turbo into them.

    These engine 2.5 V6 with AWD and AWS was the best in Europe to get. Except VR4 (RHD). It look similar to 6A12 2.0v6 2.0l. Its double DOHC.
    One of my friend have two of them, one for every day use and second for spare parts...
    It has got 2airbags, automatic a/c, all in el., sunroof, leather (not common here in Europe),
    and so on..
    Its not so quick car as 6G GTi AWD, but its comfortable thanks to shocks with el. adjusting from inside. And if all the equipment work well, it can be fast too.
    In 95 was this car like the best of its group. And was wasnt cheap eather..

    A friend of mine has the E88, it´s in South-Germany / Bavaria often sold.
    The ECS in combination with the TCL and 4WD beats modern suspensions. The engine is equal to the F10 Sigma (I think in US named Diamante), only the cubik is reduced. This car is made for small curvy countryroads, it runs like on tracks. No better car to beam BMW or Mercedes from the road.

    Zup Ali I haven't seen you on MSN for a long time let's chat some more over on msn.

    Anyway long answer short there is only one drivehshaft part # listed for all sorts of Galant AWD variants, so it's definitely the same driveshaft. The U-joints on these shafts are shared with Eclipse and some models of Suzuki (Vitara?) as well, if it makes finding parts easier.

    There are 4 types of subframe for the rear of a Galant, one is the 4WD + 4WS, then there's 4WS only (weird, eh?), 4WD only and finally a 2WD only rear end. Since it's established that it's a 4WD the only thing left to check is if it has 4WS. To check that:

    rip out the center console lining under the lid and check for a big sensor that says "SENSOR, YAW MITSUBISHI MOTORS". Or simply if there's a 4WS light lit when the key is turned to ON. I say check under the center console because sometimes the light is just burnt or whatever.

    In Japanese market the 4WD only rear subframe is supposed to be found on Eterna XX4 or the Galant Sport (the 5dr wagon) but UAE specs might be different. The 4WD only rear subframe is also found in the US spec and Japanese reverse-import 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse / DSM bros.
