That kind of design is good for N/a or FI systems, the "do or die" factor in the design is the plenum. This design is great for the forced induction and doesn't need a higher flow space design like you would with N/a builds. Read up on tuned intake manifolds/runners, and even intake reversion...its an old, but still tested and proven way to design these things.

I have been tinkering around with my own manifold off and on, but haven't got much further than design and aquiring material. All you need is a plate to be cut out (water jet or laser places) to match the surface the orginal plenum bolts to. You can either bolt the plate on and then weld the plenum to that for sold one piece design, or if you have a great welder that can weld cast materials you could weld the new plenum straight to that.

ahh I see. Hmm maybe I'll keep my 6g72 lower intake manifold for future use... LOL I don't think anyone is going to buy it anyway

You could do the same with an XG manifold even like what boostzealot did with his...though they supposedly are making those units now for a few hundred bucks.

I believe they are sold for about 400 bucks. PM me about the link.

^^^^That tube between the TB and IM, is that suppose to add more volume to the original plenum?

From what I understand it is bascially to retain the air volume of the original plenum. Stuff like that also helps to reduce the delay of throttle repsonse so you are getting a good amount of air coming into the combustion chambers to get things moving before the trubo/s spool up and start building boost.

Trask Performance in Arizona does the same design with their Harley turbo kits so the throttle response isn't all crappy until the turbo kicks in.
