um depends on the deals you get but anywhere from 1000-2k id figure my ball park with mostly new parts is 1500.. 2g turbo fwd trannies work but usually cost more and you need the axles so it would be a bit more.. they are the same trannies just different input shafts

mine was around 800 with the installation

500 in parts, 300 installation, getting on my nerves - priceless
God created turbo lag to give the v8's a brief moment of hope.

Search around for someone trying to dump a 2g GST for really cheap and just take all the parts to swap to 5 speed off that car. Another option is go to your local salvage yard to hope to find a 5 speed 7g or a 5speed 2g Eclipse/Talon FWD turbo and go happy grabbing the parts.

The price depends how patient you are in searching....if your looking to find one for a good price just really look around and ask questions on other forums, or check hard on ebay b/c i know they have alot of the 2g tranny on ebay. I got my tranny with 30,000 miles on it with all cables and lines, clutch and brake, ACT CLUTCH, shifter, tranny mounts...for $1300.00.
