    Prep for paint

I would like to find out how to prepare car for a painting it at Macco. I wanna do the all prep by my self so they can just put the color coat on. Should I sand the car down?? if yes how and what grid to use? Should I put primer by my self or this is not necessary? Just to mention i wanna paint my car black.

yes, sand it down with 320, then tape all the windows and you can spray it with high build primer and then wet sand it with 400

there s sand paper that is dark gray to black in color and on the package it says For wet sanding. You get a bottle a drill a hole on the cap, then you start spraying some water on the primer and start sanding in circular movements. Just make sure you keep that surface always wet. You stop when youre happy with the smoothness of the primer. You can buy the sandpaper in Walmart, or any automotive parts store

on a side note, take your time wet sanding, black is a hard color to paint as it shows even the smallest of imperfections.
