    MITSUBISHI GALANT VR4 / EVO2 ????

I wonder is it authentic VR4 or is it somekinda of wannabe.... saw an add in a magazine that says this :

    MITSUBISHI GALANT VR4 / EVO2 -90 turboengine
    ab. 250 hv, Haltech-injectionsystem , Bilstein-suspension.

    What is that "EVO2" ?

dude, i might be wrong but i think the evo 2 bit simply is because back then the galant was mitsubishis weapon of choice for rally's. after that the first awd turbo lancers took over. i think they were the evo3's aka gsr's.

i think all thats true, but it could well be that its all just bull. so don't go betting ur left ball on what i said......

the vr4's of old used the same engine as the mitsubishi evolution, the 4g63. more than likeyly it is the same shape vr4 as in 1991. He may just have meant that he changed the engine to the evolution engine. Y would he do this? Well the vr4 engine was a slightly less powerful one to that of the evo, thought it was the same engine./ hope i helped. maybe late:)

hey guys im new on this forum im from new zealand and we have galants and vr4's and evo's coming out our ears over here!

I think i can help out on this question..

Ya have your "normal Vr4's...putting out roughly 205bhp?
Then you have what we call VR4 Evo Zeros. These have the first evo engine in them. Bascically a strengthened vr4 engine, bigger turbo, intercooler, much strengthened drive train, close ratio gearbox, bonnet vents etc. Only round 500 were made (i have one hehe) and they put out 245bhp standard.
Then you go up to the Evo, which are of course lancers, not galants...

    hope this helps
