It should fit. I'm using a modified Galant fuel regulator on my 2g DSM engine/fuel rail. Why do you want to do this?
can a 2g eclipse fuel presure regulator fit on an 98 galant

it doesn't fit. this is a problem when 7G owners go turbo, since we can't just throw on a 2G FPR, need an aftermarket one
Kev is using a 2g Turbo FPR on his 7G but i find it pointless unless you go turbo to deviate from a stock regulator

theres no point to downgrade to 2g FPR even when turbo. 2g FPR is 43psi and this is what the ECU wants to see. 7g FPR is 48-50 psi which gives you a bit more juice cuz its N/A. If you go turbo with stock ECU it still needs to see the 48-50, not 43 psi. Plus youll have that extra 5 psi of fuel pressure to keep things to the rich side, cuz you better be little rich than lean
no its because my car fuel presure regulator is going bad that why
then get an FPR specifically for your motor and ECU.
i've ran into this same problem just now doing the DOHC swap. i need an FPR specifically for a GS, since the 2G FPR uses a different base pressure. i'll never find one used...
im swapping to a 2g ecu so the ecu will look for the stock 2g regulator pressure

Like I said, I'm running a 7g FPR in my 2g engine. I've been using for months with no problems at all. If it works one way, it works the other way too.
O.P.: If your FPR is going bad you can get one from a junk yard for $15 or less.
