Offset and backspacing affect how the wheel sits on the car. And in fact that *can* also affect your alignment specs (toe, camber, and scrub radius). Just roll the fenders and call it a day.

i'll check the off-set, if all else fails i'll have to roll the fenders...

Guys, I finally had my car aligned and the shop stated that the cause of the rubbing was my backspacing/offset of my wheels. I researched and the wheels I had prior (Fame Exel 18x7.5 offset 40) did not/and or never rubbed. My current wheels (R-1 Racing Drift 18x8 offset 40, offset HPO) rubs. The shop stated that my only other option is to have my fenders rolled. The difference between 18x7.5 and 18x8 wheels=rubbing? That's nutts!! Holla at me if I'm on the right track and if my information is correct-Sparky!!!

Damn so .5" really makes the difference for you, rolling fenders would be the correct fix or add a little neg camber like Stewi said.

Yes that small amount of differnece is enough to cause rubbing. Roll your fenders and call it a day.

Actually it is only .25" that is making the difference. A half inch total is .25" on each side. Although the backspacing of both wheels can be up to .25" different also.
