Some Add-on Subs!

So you have 2 bass amps and 2 different boxes in your trunk?
Get 2 kicker solobaric L5's or some JL W7's or something, put them in a ported enclosure and use your big amp.
It will be louder than both the boxes you have now (MUCH LOUDER)
And it would be slightly less space.
I am doing 4 comp vr 8 inch in a huge ported box. right now I have just two of them in a 2 and a half cf vented box I built on my lunch break and its pretty silly. its been compared to 2 kenwood 12's.

I'd love to that more than you kno..lol but thats a money issue. I need a few other things on the car b4 i spend another 4-700 on my stereo. im lookn to put 2 hundred max in an call it a day for about a month or so. an i kno only 200 is a stretch.

build a ported enclosure for the ones that you have. it will be louder than if you add 2 more subs and will cost you less than 2 hundred bucks.
if you cant build one then buy one from subzone or obcon.

I have bostons..didnt think ported would help em.

Bostons? Oh god...that's why your looking for more bass...When you bought those they didn't mention that they were mostly for sq did they....a
They sound good but they aren't the right subs for "big bass".
Go buy a couple of Kicker Comp VR subs already loaded into a ported box, use the amp you have.
dude if I lived anywhere near you I would build you a box.

Yea...i researched em b4 i got em. i bought em on internet an i new they were S.Q but i thot they'd be loud too. id kinda rather get some MTX subs instead. Cuz i kno kicker is rele good but i dont kno if ill like em.

Then i Want LOUD from the amp ive got now..its not even turned 3/4th up an bostons barely handle it. So i was want'n some 800w mtx TR5512-44...i think thats it.

mtx is good also, mtx, kicker,alpine type r or type x, rockford fosgate isnt bad for the money. JL audio is ridiculously expensive for what you get

Yea. I know pretty much all the higher brands...I've never heard any JL's and ive wanted to. But I haven't heard the MTX either an they match my amps plus ive heard some people say they're pretty loud.

the gain knob is NOT a volume knob, just because its turned up high doesn't necessarily mean loud, theres a lot more that goes into it

Oh I kno..it has to do with its input sensitivity too but bass boost is on 0...its an awesome amp i'm saying an i could something louder out of it...Im jus not sure wat subs now. First i was replacing old 300w Jbl's now its the bostons lol.They'll go in my 87 Iroc.

Hello, I say Alpine or Rockford Fosgate. Just my opinion :D

How much power could our altys take? 500W-1000W should be fine right? I'm still deciding if a capacitor is worth getting yet.

if your sitting at idle with your headlights on and they dim when the bass hits then you may want a capacitor. A capacitor is to help, its a band aid. really if you go with a lot of power on a system you should wire in a second battery and upgrade your alternator.
when you upgrade the alternator you should also upgrade the wire from the alternator to the battery and your factory ground from the battery to the chassis.
