Rattle in rear deck for 9G

What's up ya'll? So I've had some amped polk MMC690s (6x9) in my rear deck for the past year. They have rattled my rear deck the entire time but I'm kind of fed up with it now. I looked and felt around inside the car and in the trunk but can't find the rattle. The rattle sounds like it's coming from both speaker areas. Haven't pulled off the rear deck carpet yet to investigate and here's where my question starts:

Without pulling off the deck, does anyone have/had the same issue and can possibly identify the problem?

Or, can someone tell me how I need to go about pulling off the rear deck carpet without messing it up?

I really hope it's something simple that I can tie down or something.

    Grazie

Pull the rear seat out. Lift up the bottom part and undo the 3 bolts that hold on the back. The carpet is a board that comes out as 1 piece. Put you some dynamat on the rear deack and you should be fine.

You're da man (or woman) Team Helotes. I'm going to knock it out this weekend. Hopefully, I won't have to buy dynamat for the rattle. Just something loose around the speaker holes.

    Thanks!

Ah you're the one with the killer rear deck. I remember seeing that maybe a year ago on here and I wanted to copy that design. I didn't/don't have the time and resources to emulate but that would be my optimum setup. Great work

Thanks. I am planning on doing some more work this spring break. I am going to move my HD and XD receivers from under the dash to the truck and hook them up to the Evo X antenna I mounted on the roof. That will free up the rats nest under the dash and will take the XM antena off of the rear deck.

I am also hoping to Dynamatt the rear doors and everything under the carpet. I have my eye on a new Pioneer head unit but I am cheap and do not want to spend the $$$$$$$$$.

I hear you on the $$$. Sometimes, it's not worth the money or trouble. But desire gets in the way of logic sometimes.

Good luck with the dynamat project. That would be major if you can mat up the doors. No rattles at all.

I need to re-do the disaster behind my radio too. Installed a hard-wired Ipod FM transmitter and all the speaker wires and amp w/ LOC converter behind there. It's not pretty. Looking at the JVC double DIN unit so I can loose the Ipod transmitter and LOC converter for the speaker wires
