Door speaker not working

My friend recently got a 01 Galant and we went on a drive last weekend. I have noticed no sound coming out from the front door speaker, but sometime it work. All the connections are plugged in correctly. Can't figure out what else need to check..

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

the speaker is probably blown. the voice coil is reconnecting sometimes, or you have a loose connection somewhere. if everything is plugged in then it's probably the speaker though.
are the speakers factory?

if there is a aftermarket headunit in the vehicle, it could also be a loose connection behind the radio.

He brings up a valid point, if the radio isn't stock then it could be a loose connection.

Check wiring behind the HU and make sure everything is crimped well or correctly placed.
