    4g63 head swap question

hey guys. just want some opinions. i am gettin a 2003 4g63 head and wanna know what head gasket u guys think would be better to use. can u run a stock 4g64 gasket or do u need a 4g63 gasket or r they the same? or should i have a custom extra thick gasket made? do u guys have any preferences as far as fuel rails and any preferences on intake manifolds?

you need to use the modified stock evo gasket that AMS sells or the cometic gasket made for the headswap. The cometic gasket can be ordered in whatever thickness you like and only takes about 8 days to be custom made. The head is fine if its from an 03 EVO, run the stock evo manifold and rail

ok. will do that. question bout ur turbo manifold. did u have to cut the flange and weld it upside down as to not hit the starter or did it come like that. ive been looking at the hafe ones on the dsm sites and they look like the turbo would bolt up at the bottom and not the top. or at least urs looks like it bolts up on the top.

I have a peakboost HVS manifold made for an EVO, I also have an EVO transmission and starter, so the starter clearance is fine since all the parts are made for an EVO. You would need to use a DSM manifold or the cast have manifold for a DSM with the adaptor plate.

For the AMS gasket just call up AMS and tell them what you want and they will get it, their site doesnt show all the stuff they sell, just call and tell them you need a stock evo headgasket that will fit a 4G64 block and they will know what to sell you.
