5 speed swap

I really want to do the swap, but i feel that i am not capable of doing it myself. Would it be a good idea to take it somewhere and have it possibly done if they think they can do it or is that not a good idea?

i dont think a shop would do is due to there being no clutch safty mechanism, i would try to see if there are any memebers in your area willing to help you out

you would have to hook up the clutch saftey...most of us just choose not to...that has nothing to do with it...although to the OP im sure that you are prob more capable then you think...there are a few guys around your area that im sure would have no problem helping you...im sure a shop in general would be expensive...but if thats what you ultimately want to do it doesnt hurt to check around with some of them...

I did my swap on the floor in my garage while still being able to park another car inside at night. You need your basic hand tools, a clutch alignment tool, jack stands, 2 or more jacks and a torque wrench. Thats honestly all I used.

Yea my tools list is pretty similar to Jigz's

Tools:
4 jack stands (2 to hold car up, 2 for engine support)
Ratchets, Sockets
Torque Wrench
Breaker Bar (big!)
Clutch alignment tool (usually comes with a new clutch kit)
Car Jack
Wood Blocks (for raising up the car jack.. I know.. pretty bad bahaha)
Engine Hoist (not totally necessary, but it sure helped me a lot)
Ropes (to lift up the 5 speed using the engine hoist)

As far as the jack stands and jack are considered, I wouldn't do it. It is a feasable method but I would rather use a lift.

everything bolts in where it would belong, the MT shifter mounts ar in the same location as the AT. The clutch mounting holes are there just need to be drilled, look under the dash where your brake pedal is mounted, to the left of that is an squarish outline cut in the sound deadening, if you pull that out you will see where you have to mount the clutch all you need to do is drill and dremmel out that section
