    Finally Tuned my 30% throttle

I got my car tuned on the low (30%) settings with the Wideband O2 sensor...

Besides the freaking traffic when going towrds Las Vegas Speedway (today was the Buusch Series Races) i am happy to see that my afr is set pefect (though only on low throttle settings).
Before i did it with the wideband 02 - i found that my air to fuel ratio (let's call it afr) is all over the place.

So aftr tuning I am running pretty much stoich mixture thru all my gears - though above 2.5 RPM they are rich (afr is 13.8)....My idle got way better now, is at 710 jumping to 690 sometimes but it doesn't make suden rpm jumps back and forward, and plus afr on idle 14.6.
My WOT is lean from 3.5 K above. (excatly afr is 15.7 with max out 550's injectors)
Damit..Gotta get different fuel pressure regulator, cuz the one I have (Votrtex) is not adjustable...
The car is running really nice at low settings - finally profesionally tuned... with the real wide band 02 sensor.
I gotta raise the fuel pressure - and my problem should be fixed..

Gotta save more money though, dyno is expensive as hell, so is the fuel pressure regulator
I won't get on the gas pedal till i do that. It will probably take me about 2 months to do that.
Also found today an freaking intercooler pipe leak - which was screwing me for over 1 month of driving. Need to replace my clamps with the really strong one cuz i guess the one i have seems not that tight...
The car is pretty powerful on low settigs at 30% of throttle (no boost) - my friedns are suprised too how smooth is goes now, with no boost or perhaps 1-2 psi. Before the car wasn't as smooth as it goes now.

The worst thing of all is that when i get my adjustable fpr then i will have to set the low settings again...(but they took about 50 min to do that).
But the good thing is that i know i am not supossed to get on it till i tune my high throttle settings and my low settings are set nice.

Any sponsors who are willing to pay for dyno time so I can tune it again when i get adjustable afr ?
    Thanks..

I've got the one from RPW. It's very adjustable and has an integrated gauge so you can monitor what you're doing. I've had no problems with it at all. Here's the original post from when I got it http://www.clubtgc.org/forum/viewtopic.php...ght=fpr&start=0

even tho this is for a 1g car, it is by far the best tuning article on the afc you will ever find. some of it will apply to your car.

especially check out the part on setting your hi and lo throttle. i have mine on 15 lo and 65 high. it was on 30 low, 70 hi, but dropping the low settings has helped out a lot. also, you may want to go and do the map sensor mod, check out the postings on:

your hi throttle settings are based on your tps, and basing it on boost makes a LOT more sense, more so in your case, because i am sure your ecu does not go open loop until much higher rpm. mine goes open loop above 4k, this is when it goes to factory set fuel maps. you can tell when your car has gone open loop, because you will get one steady reading from the o2 sensor. also, when under boost, stoich is really too lean. stoich is almost 15:1, our cars seem to do best about 10-12:1, depending on boost, rpm, etc. your ecu is probably still trying to get it to 14.7, because it is for an n/a car. even with your intercooler, i would advise you to install a water injection system.

my open loop is about 4K rpm - this is when my air to fuel ratio is 15.7 all the way (only at WOT).
Low setting (about 30% of the throttle) should be close to stoich, and they are - on the rich side.
Thanks for the links - I will check'em out .

    Martin,

I have the adjustable FPR, I got it from www.visionimports.com. You can tell a big difference because you can set it yourself. I have the same one that Chip talked about above. You can get it installed at regulate and they will set it for you too.

if your a/f is 15.7%, do not WOT....believe me you will have problems. GET THIS FIXED.

when i got my car tuned the first time i was 14.7 and they told me that was way TOO high or a FI car. after the 2nd time and new fuel pump was 13.7 and still WAY to high..believe me this is from a GOOD source. actually one of their cars is one of the cars from SPORT COMPACT of the year. on a turbo or supercharged engine you want to be right arround 12.5 - 13. anything higher and you're asking for an engine rebuild ....also are you running an EGT ? that would help you out too..

i am running about 14-15 when get on, though i don't anymore cuz i know i am running lean at wot. in the closed loops egt sstay below 12 - around 11. Note tdat EGT depends on the rpm range - cuz the manifold is getting hotter.
