    Almost done!

The car has been down since around Christmas time and I just got it towed back to my house the other night. Spent a good amount of the day cleaning parts up, installing new gaskets, and putting the engine back together. Tomorrow I'm gonna try to knock out the timing. If I don't finish it tomorrow I only have Tuesday left because I'll be out of time for a week or two due to school and wisdom teeth removal.
I'll post up a picture of the valve cover on with my super sweet blue NGK plug wires. Time for a CAI to get rid of the dry and cracking stock intake system.

I also painted the valve cover semi-gloss black to hide some of the defects in it.

Much appreciated. I was actually kind of pissed about working on the car at first, but now that I've actually done some of the engine work I'm a lot more familiar with the engine now so it's starting to grow on me.

That's the best way to learn something, hands on.

It definitely helped. Only thing I even used the Haynes for was for torque specs. I'm used to working on bigger engines..but it was nice working on the I4 because its so damn easy to rip apart and put together.

Got most of the timing done today. Couldn't finish because I don't have a bench vise to compress the auto tensioner so I'll compress it tomorrow while at work and finish it up on Tuesday.

    Yep. They sure are.
Engine bay is still pretty dirty, but I'll wait to clean it up once I finish up everything. Gotta go to a junkyard and find another exhaust manifold since there is a mega crack in mind.

Definitely not in my price range. I can get a non-cracked manifold from the pick n pull for $20.

Won't be hard. There's about 6 7g Galants sitting in the pick n pull. They just don't have the damn shifter bezel I need!

get a 96+ spyder or galant header. its a 4-1 design. that manifold you got there can't be worth much as it sits. Mine is the same way.

Who are you talking to? I'm not on the market for any kind of headers, only a stock manifold. Not enough of a performance gain for me to justify spending the extra coin on headers.

I am talking about stock manifolds. according to the information I have. the stock 96+ manifold is worlds better then the 94-95 manifold. Which I see you have there.

I'm not trying to get you to buy aftermarket. Hell I don't even want to buy aftermarket. I'm looking for the 4-1 design myself.
