    my next project 7gvr4

:D:D bought this for 1000nzd, needed a new alternator, paint was crap and timing belt is due in the next 20,000

so i got it home, did the alternator, put in a full system today, its going to the paintshop on monday, and then its a superlow springkit, nice wheels and we'll see from there.
I want it to look really aggressive, going to have decent amount of camber too.

loving the 200hp, 4wd and 4WS! too bad its an auto but for what I paid cant complain.

To be fair, it's not a tidy example. But yes you can get them from about 2k upwards for ones with a lil better paint work, less k's etc.

Looking good Starh4x, what colour are you going to paint it ?

    Ask and you shall receive:

The steering wheel isn't stock but the rest is pretty stock...well nothing on the A pillar either.

Leather wrapped door cards are standard. lower grade VR or VX-R will have fabric accent door cards. Also door mounted speakers are standard for the VR4

pic of 159,999km just before the timing belt change.

Rear steering is under the car of course and driven by the front power steering pump.... imagine how the Eclipse 4WD rear end look like but instead of the adjustable rear toe arms you have a steering rack mounted to the subframe...

So far so good the 4WS helps a lot in low friction situations....it almost feels like ESP if you steer with some hamfisted driving it will save your ass if the front starts to plow.

it's not the buying it and getting it here that is expensive. it's the registering / making it legal part that gets very pricey. JDM cars do not comply to US crash standards and emissions. there are ways around it ranging from thousands to 10's-100's of thousands. it can also be disassembled, shipped over here as parts and reassembled, then registered as a kit car. it seems we've discussed it hundreds of times on this board.

Yeah I'm thinking of an autumn project to remove all door cards and have them refinished.
