Honestly if you dont know if it has been replaced then get it replaced ASAP.. You dont want it snapping on you...
So I just bought my car about a month ago, but because of a bad transmission I have been unable to drive it. I know that the other belts (alternator, power steering) have been replaced recently. However the guy I bought the car from does not know if/when the timing belt has been replaced. The car has 155k on it. This is only my second car and my first one had the timing belt replaced. What should I be looking for? Mechanics are not my thing, but I really don't want to lose my car, because of my lack of education.
Honestly if you dont know if it has been replaced then get it replaced ASAP.. You dont want it snapping on you...
which year is?

with that kind of sketchy service history, i would do a complete timing/balance shaft belt job right away. replace all the tensioners and pulleys, replace the water pump, do an oil change, coolant change, and check the power steering fluid. also run a compression check if you want to rest easy at night
