and i know why your belts don't fit try using 2 adjustable evo 8 cam gears and your problem will be fixed, make sure your using the right belt also, you make me want to post up my build lol

my belt fits fine it from a 94 dohc just like it should but its not on tight since I want to prime the oil pump befor it goes on and the motor goes in the car so i just threw it up there
Not a bad build at all, very impressed. What pistons do you have? or is the motor stock? Turbo might be alil to big for a stock motor but other than that everything looks sweet...give us some more update.
Evo 8 ECU / 5 Speed Swap / Fully Built Forged Motor
Turbonetics Turbo T31 Stage 3 / RPW Stage 3 Camshaft
So you opened the motor up, took it all apart and left the stock rods and pistons in it? Please tell me when you installed the main studs that you remove the crank and bearings and checked the tolerances with the main studs torqued.

After all that work he has done by taking the motor apart and put a DOCH head and a pretty big turbo on the motor...running on the stock pistons and rods, to me dosnt seem like a good idea. All that work I would put forged pistons and rods and racing bearings/w ARP main and head studs. Also after all that work he is still limited to an amount of power he can only run b4 the motor blows, but other than that everything looks pretty nice but I would rethink about the stock internals.

Turbonetics Turbo T31 Stage 3 / RPW Stage 3 Camshaft
opps nvm I see that he is runnig ARP studs but still I would look more into the stock internals.

the stock sohc motor has been proven to hold up to 19 pounds w/ the head as the week link the rods are the same rods as the 2g turbos and they are oem pistons all tolerences have been check and new bearings they are not 2 sohc gears they are the correct cam gears and im not looking to put out 1000hp we are talking prob a max of maybe 15psi of boost dont worry about it holding up.
Did you paint the slide pins on your calipers
lets us know when its up and running post some video too
Im not sure where you got your info from but it is impossible that those are the "correct" cam gears. When doing the DOHC swap you must use at least one adjustable cam gear and a stock EVO cam gear or two adjustable cam gears. If you took it upon yourself to assume that the the 94 Galant DOHC cam gears would work, they wont. The older engines had the timing marks on the cam gears in a different place than the EVO/Kia/Hyundais. If your using two stock EVO cam gears you can get it to run but one of the two things will happen, either you will get the belt nice and tight but the timing will be a little off, or you will get the timing right and the belt wouldnt be as tight as it should be. Trust me. I tried a few different combos and I have done the timing belts now on 4 of these DOHC swapped motors, you need at least one adjustable gear.
