how much of this have you planned out? Do you know everything that needs to be swapped out? If you're dead set on going to a V6, might as well go to a 6G74 since its basically a direct drop in.

    when buying an engine, check:
    mileage
for any leaks, weather coolant or oil
    visible carbon build up
make sure timing belt never snapped

obviously make sure that the engine was running before they pulled it from the car. If it was, they'll typically give it some kind of warranty. Before you go buying anything though, I want to make sure that you know exactly what you would be jumping into.

Going from a 4g64 to a 6g72 also remember that you have to change the tranny bc the
4g64 and 6g72 are diff trannies. Sub frams are diff so will need some modification done to it, and a whole lot of wireing. You ganna be spending some money here...unless thats not a problem for you.

Make sure you sell the i4 first then it would be even cheaper. And you get to drive the day of purchase....

QFT do not attempt to swap a v6 into your 4 cylinder it will cost the same as buying a v6 galant.

and it will cost you all resale, it'll probably not be near as reliable, and you won't gain much if any power/and you'll lose alot of potential (although the 6g7x guys are doing it big lately)

Dude you have a 4 cylinder. Don't bother with either.

why not? all he has to do is swap out the sub frames and a little wiring....
but since your 4 cylinder, your best bet is fi, with a evo 8 head...

    Aka "Turbo"

@OP if your a 4 cyl. your best options are:

    1) Build your engine and go Turbo

    2) evo or sonata/optima head swap + Turbo

    3) Complete evo engine swap + Turbo

And to take full advantage of this options you would need to do a 5 spd swap.

SEARCH there's so much threads about this, do Your home work.
