    Icon5 Faulty TCM?

I have a 96 galant s auto, the engine went south(broken timing belt) and we were lucky enough to find a totaled 97(motor/tranny still good) locally for cheap. We swapped the motor/tranny from the 97 to the 96 and things were great for about 4 months. Now, no reverse and very clunky in forward gears(like in BAD need of tune up). The engine runs smooth in park then but not in forward gears. I have read similar symptoms and the diagnosis was the TCM. Does this sound accurate to you guys? Suggestions?
