But if your installing a cone filter why do you want to use the stock air filter, could you explain your self better.

If you want to use a cone filter with oem tubing you need a maf adapter.

    Spectre MAF Adapter
    Spectre Filter

    done.
Technically what you're asking is impossible. You want to get rid of the big box, but keep the stock filter? The stock filter sits inside the big box, so if you want to use the stock filter, you're going to have to keep the big box. The stock intake already scoops in reasonably cold air from the crack in the hood.

    yes it will

It shouldn't. If that's the only thing holding you back then just do the cold air intake it looks better and clears up a lot of room.

    what are you talking about?

giving uninformed answers is the same as giving the wrong answer. stop answering questions that you do not know the answer to.

a $35 intake is worth what it costs... it may not be made well or does not have all the bracketry to support itself and not add stress to the throttle body/manifold. it will also probably not be CARB EO (50 states legal).

ur CEL will not necesarily come on if you install an intake as long as you install it correctly. make sure you plug your MAF back in after install and disconnect your negative battery cable before you start the install (to reset the ECU).

there is no such thing as a galant v4.
