all automatic starters are the same. the manual starter is different as if you look at the teeth on the 2 starters are different length and be careful for the auto starter to wear done the teeth on your flywheel

Ohh trust me I've had this happen already. It was horrible!
I was told by a local junk yard that a starter out of a neon would work but I don't know personaly. I didn't buy one from them though. But I would think that they would be the same from any auto 7g galant.
