    Icon5 Amp for subs

    Hello everyone.
I am currently driving a 2003 Galant es.

I just recently purchased 2 12" Alpine type e subs.

    Single voice coil
    4 ohms
    750W peak power
    250W rms Power handling

I have yet to purchase an amp though since i am unsure of what exactly i need to power my subs to their full potential.

I have been looking at a Alpine - 500W Class D Mono MOSFET Amplifier with Adjustable Crossover.

Although im not sure if it will be enough power or if its even do able.

I would appreciate any help and/or suggestions please.

I can always provide more specifications if necessary.
    Thanks.

It will not push them to its full potential unless you wire them together to achieve a 2ohm load, Then you will get 500rms amp power to 500rms speaker power

Well i will admit i know nothing of wiring them and honestly i don't know much of car audio in general.

I was definitely going to have a professional install them.

Now when you say i will get 500rms amp power to speaker power is that for both subs?

Or should i buck up and buy a larger watt amp?

I have tried to read up on the basics and such on all of it but im still a little lost about it all.
