the wiring is fine, I did everything at my house, there's something wrong with the rpm gauge, acting all crazy

ah alright, where did you place the sensor on the block??, like how many wires is it 1, 2??
Could it be the rpm sendor on the transmission?? by buddys neons rpm would bonuce, and found out the sender was going bad.

hey you throw cam or crank codes? your setup is almost just like mine and from the start ive thrown those codes i already got an evo cam sensor and put it in but i still throw codes for both cam and crank sensor circuits..it weird cause the car still starts and runs just getting rev limited at 4500

Man it's been a while since I even touched my G, school is depriving me of all my joys in life, but there should be a spot on the back of the block to put a knock sensor in, but you will have to wire it directly to the evo ecu like he said earlier... there should be an open pin on the boomslang harness that it can plug into, to be honest I haven't seen if for about a year
but i'm still having the problems with the rev limiting at around 4500 rpm like reiketsutsukigami mentioned above.

im having no problems i think i just have a bad ecu because the rpm gauge "works" but really slow and drops out, that's all once its fixed i should be straight

so far everything works, I still have some codes for the o2 sensors, and when cruising especially when I'm in 5th and going slow in a neighborhood the engine feels like its rocking for no reason in closed loop, could be the EGR opening and closing, have no idea yet

Looking good so far man, congrats on getting her running. What cams are you running? are they stock or upgraded? also what mounts do you have stock or aftermarket?

Reason why I ask is bc I have an RPW Stage 3 camshaft and when I started the car the motor ran pretty hard or just had a hard sound to it, but thanx to the prothane motor mounts my engine didn't even budge.

Wow looks awesome. But Hyundai parts? I am skeptical about even touching those nowadays, I guess it is some phobia from previous stuff they had. Oh the horrors.

Good luck with it, especially fixing that EGR opening.

to Galantfan88: im running crower 272 cams and prothane motor mounts

to Davidline: its just the head everything else isn't Hyundai parts, and i really don't know whats wrong with it yet it could be the o2's but they are wiring right in the harness unless someone else has a different configuration

to 99galantES: yeah my engine didn't either there is a hole under that bracket that holds the intake manifold up, i dont know why your engine would have one our ecus don't support it unless 01 and up does

to Armageddon Sunset: thanks lol hoping to get this thing running grade A here soon fix the o2 sensors, and that might fix all my problems

sorry guys, I havn't updated this much but some pics i took this morning after the rain stoped after 2 days

the whole car needs refurbished bad

I'm thinking of buying another Galant stock with less miles and drop everything in it, shes got over 180k miles on her and falling apart

    to do list still:

getting rid of the last codes (almost done)
get a tune, going from 13 psi to 19 psi, I'm looking for a "boost pill" from an evo8 if anyone has one if anyone has any good Orlando tuners let me know
    and then hopefully another Galant

working out problems one by one

finally got my pins in and wired up the fuel regulator solenoid, waiting to get home from work so i can reflash the ecu and make sure there are still no codes,

next to go in evo 8 oem plugs and the boost pill and vacuum lines

Looks like motor-wise everything is all together. Congrats! Any vids? If the car is falling apart like you say, I'd get another clean galant to swap the motor into and cut your losses there.
