Welcome! Can't wait to see pix of your G when u get it. Good luck with it. There is alot you can do with your car. Search is your friend here. There is alot of info here. Happy modding!
Hi all
Haven't got my hands on it yet but I should be picking it up in late November. Put down a deposit already so just a matter of waiting now.
The car is 2001 Galant 2.5l V6 Sport. It's got 63,000 miles on the clock with only two previous owners. I'm just trying to get a few ideas of what I can do with this car when I do get it.
Are all of the evo spoilers a quick fit to the 8g galant?
Is there much I can do with performance on this engine?
Thanks for any advice!
Tom

Hello from across the pond!
Yes, the EVO spoilers are a quick fit, pretty common thing a lot have done.
As far as performance, depends on your end goal with the car?
Pictures are fixed!
Well I believe the standard bhp is somewhere around 168bhp? My current car is a 1994 Celica GT which is a 2.0. That's 176bhp standard so if I could achieve that with the 2.5 v6 galant engine or more id be happy.
That G is sick. I have never seen those foglight bezels before and that wing is pretty cool looking.

Thanks! Do you not get the 2.5l V6 Sport model in the USA?
The car has already been lowered but tbh i think its still slightly to high so might drop it another 10mm.
My first project with the car is to build and install an In Car-PC and remote start function. Want to fit some HID's as well. What do the JDM rear lights look like because im not sure which ones ive got fitted on mine at the moment really.
Welcome :) I see u have the same colour as mine, X08.
The poor guys over the pound has a total diffrent G8 with other engines, interior and exterior :P
We got the JDM tails. The only tails we dont have are the ones called aspire :)
Me an du got basicly the same car besides the engines and in Norway we got a special Sport model with OEM Mitsu Momo steering wheel and blue/black interior with silverpainted center console

Haha always wanted a black car. Gives me a better oppurtunity to use a colour scheme as anything goes with black really.
Was yours originally a sport then? I have the black and blue interior with the Momo Wheel.
I was looking through your project page and i see you were/are planning on a new engine. So have you got a 2.5v6 or is that what you took out and put something in? Just i didnt think the 2.5v6 was capable of 200bhp?
Clean looking car man. Fog's are unique like Stewi said. I bet you're excited to be driving such a beautiful piece of machinery.

Thanks all,
Just wondering if anyone on here has a grounding kit fitted? Ive heard you can get a reasonable performance increase just from putting one in.
I got the regular 2.0l 4G63 136hp engine. The taxes for bigger engines over here is high so Norwegian importers didnt import that many V6 and GDi Galants. I was told that it was only in Norway we got the Sport edition with the Momo wheel.
Avance came only with black or cream leather seats with the electric adjustment/auto triptronic/high contrast speedo/wood finish in dash/auto climate/
Sport came with black&blue interior/regular seats/only manual tranny/high-contrast speedo/auto climate/dash painted in steel gray/momo steering wheel
Both of em has the same bodykit, the VR-4 facelift kit :)
The V6 was my old plan. And a dude over here have 2.5 V6 auto and he told me he had over 190hp in his G. But after a "race" i took him with my 136hp with manual transmission so im not so shure has 190hp
Now i want the 2.4l DOHC GDi engine. 150hp with euro ECU and 160 with JDM ECU. Got 225nm at 3500rpm and the 2.5V6 224nm at 4500rpm. The 2.4 can u tune the ECU up to about 180hp with some modifications.
