    1. Pointing them down = less light on road where it's needed.

    2. 10k not as bright = exactly, like driving a car with OEM HIDs and wearing blue sunglasses.

I hope you aren't defending something that is wrong. I understand you trying to get by with decent lighting as you save up and prepare for a reterofit.

I never understood why people want HIDs above 6000K, any more and you lose visibility.

If you're going to toss HIDs in normal housings, 4300K 35W bulbs give off the least glare when aimed correctly. But nothing beats how a projector lens focuses the beam and its cutoff.

Post a pic of your light output on a wall so I can show you how much you really do glare. I had HID's in those very same headlights, they glare.

Also, aiming down so you don't glare is dangerous. It lights up your foreground so much so that your eyes adjust to the intense light in front of your car and the dark parts out in front of your light become invisible because your night sensitivity is gone.

Also, 10000K (or 10k Kelvin, the K in light temps stands for Kelvin, not kilo) isn't as bright to your eyes because blue hues are the hardest for our eyes to pick up. So you shine this high Kelvin light on the ground and not nearly as much comes back because it's being scattered all around, but all that scattered light is in the eyes of oncoming cars and those who are in front of you. I'd need output pics to verify, but I'm certain those lights are not as great as you think bro.

And also you're missing the point. I DO wanna do the projector retrofit, it's not like I'm objecting to it at all. I just didn't wanna buy those aftermarket projectors. I don't like them at all
What I'd do then is buy a cheap pair of OEM replacement lights and retro those, you can find a pair of them on Amazon for around $80. Put a quality set of projectors in there, get a nice shroud, some paint, some CCFL halo's (if you like that kind of thing) and you'd have some badass heads that really light up the road very well without blinding others.

That link Victor posted up from HIDPlanet, I have posted in that thread plenty times, I'm even on the last page. Read up on HIDPlanet, browse some retro's, read the University and the links from the first page, and be converted man!

???? 10k is bright (intense to on comers not on the road....) as hell in non projector headlights the blue is intense to on comming traffic and it also fatigues your and there eyes. compared to a lower kelvin 10k puts off ALOT of glare

^^ Bright and annoying 2 different things brah.

I love how the 55w 5000k's in my projectors cut right through Silverados, Sierras, Ram's and Grand Cherokees with 10-12K Kelvin lights in their heads and fogs.

JD, go to TheRetrofitSource.com and order the complete mini h1 retrofit kit. Once you have them, I can help you do it over the summer.

I tried on a tire from my lex wheels 225/40 but don't like how it looks might go with a 215/40R and 205/40F and more low

Nu-uh, took it off on purpose, it adds to the all black when it's off.

This pic has a dusty lens where the blinker is, I like how all you can see is the blue of the silverstar amber bulb, I sprayed flat black on everything , even the headlight reflector. I'm thinking about opening it and doing the projector shroud too.
