So what just use some stuff to strip the paint off (can't think of the name off my head) and spray over it? Any reason to sand or anything

Clean then real well. Preferably use purple power and power wash them. I'd strip then with aircraft paint remover and rinse then after preferable power wash them to ensure everything is gone. Scuff them with 320 grit and sprain them per the cans direction.

Others may have different methods but that's how I would do it.

Careful with the seals and that air craft paint stuff, don't want to resale if you don't want to.

  7. #8747
yeah I will apply whatever I got by hand using an old rag/shirt/etc and clean it up that way, same stuff I used on my valve cover

I can never get my impact back there anyway. I've always just taken a cutoff wheel to the stud.

I scored a set for $250 from a kid on Craigslist. And another sets I sourced the fronts and rear separately and ended up around $275. Deals like that don't come around often.

Wow would you guys be jelly of us in the desert, no salt and no rust.

I've been able to for the longest time to just grab a ratchet wrench and loosen or tighten them and the stud stays in place without spinning.

Today was gold mind junk yard day. Grabbed me a set of brand new headlight assemblies not a single scratch or ding or a sign of yellowing at all 15$ each, and a 6g72 tb that I'll need to deep scrub.

I can't recall any of my projects where I didn't break bolts, have to cut, or drill and tap something the first time around. The salt up here destroys everything.

Take a vise grip and hold the ball with it and take a ratchet and get the nut off. That's how I always do it and it works everytime

    What set up you got?

    Wheel size?
    Tire size?
    Springs?
    Coilovers?
