Please use the right paint. Or leave it raw. I highly recommend no paint.

I have rebuilt many heads. Just left it alone after the shop glass bead it for me. It looks very factory and much cleaner. No clear no gold. Best left unpainted and paint the block black. Powder coat the valve cover and toy have a killer combo

Had to custom make this piece for my valve springs, dealer said I couldnt get the tool for about a month.. Not waiting that long lol. I work at a CNC shop, which saved my ass for this part of the job. If anyone needs this piece let me know, I can make more.. actually had to do one side then do the other side after trimming some things down on the custom piece to FIT without hitting the little notches in the head.
Was definitely thinking about making a bunch of these but not many people rebuilding these heads nowadays... so maybe I can help someone when the time comes.

Why did you have to make this piece?

.... Lol. The dealer said a month to get the tool. And the universal spring compressor tool you rent from autozone does not fit properly AT ALL. Nor does the oreillys. And advanced auto does NOT carry it..

I may have been dumb at my build 10 years ago but I am very much educated now a days. But i do very much appreciate your feedback, since NOT a single soul is on TGC anymore.. we are barely keeping the heart beat going right now tbh. There are much better forums to post my stuff but I choose to share within our community to maybe spark something from the dead.. maybe..

Making progress. I used a universal spring compressor that I bought from ebay for $21 or so and didn't have fitment issues. Not sure what one u tried that didn't work for you but at least u got it sorted out.

    Pulling all this back out...
Maperformance balance shaft delete kit ordered.....

the bearing was checked and worked properly before installation and it blew clean off the rod inside the block. AGAIN..
Im done with that part. Car was running good after my first start up, 2nd start up, not so good, backfire and pretty sure it jumped a couple teeth out of time.
Shes going to be alright though

The balance shaft and bearing that go inside the block behind the balance shaft pulley..
The gear/pulley that connects to the small belt behind the timing belt.

My old head.. just need to get this cam out and cleaned up... still waiting on my balance shaft delete kit and shifter cable bushings.. not too happy with the company I ordered from, was a 2 day delivery, turned into 6 days. They sent me flywheel bolts instead of the delete kit.... shit happens though, dont really want to bad mouth the company. Since they have such great reviews in the evo world. Just put me behind a week.
But now Im contemplating on just getting some high compression pistons since everythings going to be out again and I received Uncles Trump’s check

Should have went with the brass ones. Lube those up really well or they'll get hard to move.
