    My rebuild

Back in June I blew my head gasket, so I purchased a new head and reconditioned my block. So far I have installed the new pistons and crankshaft. Also I have eliminated my balance shafts. Here are a few pics, more to come as I proceed.

I am going back stock with a sohc, the block was bored 20 over though. I had considered doing an evo swap and doing a dohc, but opted not too.

What pistons do you have and whats the compression? Nothing wrong with SOHC, look at my build...well not finished but going to get back on track in a week or so, waiting for my parts, but what are your plans with this rebuild or is it just stock rebuild?

At least you caught it now, if you tried to run it like that, massive destruction would occur, quickly.

Well my bearings came in last Thursday but I had to work friday-sunday 6am-6pm. I didnt get around to tearing the block back down and installing them. So yesterday I waited until after my son was put to bed and my wife was sleep to install them. I was putting the main bearing cap back on when my wife comes out and said she didn't feel comfortable with me working on my car at midnight and wanted me to come in. So when I woke up this morning I continued my task but didn't get too far b/c my son woke up so I am taking a pause for the cause until the wife gets home from work.

I am tryin, but things just keep popping up like today. I was putting on the rear seal and found out that one of the thread holes is stripped. So now I have to find a new bolt and tap the hole.

I installed the bearings on 11-15....

Last week I mated the block and the head, reinstalled the oil pan and installed all timing components. The past Saturday I was supposed to drop the motor back in but there was a problem getting the hoist, so I picked the tranny up while my uncle placed the bolt in the side mount, then I did the rear mount. Lastnight I was actually able to get a hoist so the motor was dropped in...

This morning I got up and went into the garage and something told me to check my head to make sure a cam seal was installed. Guess what it wasn't, so I took the cam gear off and installed the seal. Other than that didn't get much done today b/c my son woke up, waiting on the wife to get off so I can go work on it some more.

Well got to work on it a lil more but this is how it sits as I stop for tonight. After my 12 tomorrow I will work an hour or 2.....
