New Alloys 215 or 225 tyres

Gonna buy some new alloys but can't decide on either 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 tyres......... suggestions?? for my classic estate galant.

G8 2002 galant estate offset i'm told 35-40 admittly i know nothing regarding wheel and tyre sizes DOH!! lol

do you know the wheel width?

225 if you have a standard 17in rim, which is usually 7-7.5in I believe.
