did you check all your grounds? did you reattached the ground to the tranny? sounds alomost like a grounding issue, enough to engage the starter to click it, but not enough current to crank it over.... i had a problem with the tranny ground... completely forgot to hook it up lol, same symptoms...

sorry for long ass delay, got the car fixed it wasnt the starter it was a harness inside the cabin area.
