    New Guy From NJ

Whats Up? I'm Jim from the Jersey Shore (The Real Jersey Shore, not the shitty guido stereotype one)

Just got me a 2001 Galant. I've been lurking the forums for a day or two and i'm happy that there's such a dedicated community to Galant owners. It was a spur of the moment purchase, as I've always liked the way they look. I'm hoping not to run into too many problems with the car, as they do seem pretty reliable. Last car was a Volkswagen Passat that got totalled, so it's taking me a little bit to get used to the whole Mitsubishi thing.

But anyway on to the details.

    Bought it with 83500
    Auto
    V4 Engine
    Beige Exterior/Tan Cloth Interior
    ES Trim

All in all a pretty clean car. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow when I have the time. Looking forward to learning some cool tricks from you guys!

Hey, Welcome to TGC! Sorry to hear about the VW. I think you'll find things you like about the galant, as you already have.

Plenty of ways to mod your car if that's what you're into.

Haha yes. I4. Learning things already. And yes, I was into modding the VW. Nothing too serious, just liked changing around the looks, rims and tires, etc. I am enjoying the fuel economy so far, but It's kind of hard getting used to a 4cyl engine after driving a v6 for a few years. I know the Galant will be another money pit but that's just fine with me.

Yep! Except it has some cheesy american racing rims on it. I like the stock ones way better.

Haha the real year round residents are way different. We're more of a laid back surfer/beach bum bunch.

Yo welcome bro! Post the pics up.

Btw I'm a jersey-er as well, wish I was closer to the beach myself, kinda sucks to be near Philly, esp in princeton hehe.

Edit: Wait....wha-what? Why am I supreme bag of douch!?!?!?

Welcome to TGC. I used to live in Jersey and invaded the shore many a summer! You're ok in my book! LOL Good luck with the car. Any ideas yet of what you want to do with it?

Well at this point i'm just trying to figure out how to fix somethings. Unfortunately it already started giving me trouble. I'm having trouble with it stalling and problems wiring in an aftermarket radio. I posted a topic in the 8g help forum that i'll shamelessly plug right here since it'll get more exposure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
