qnz's 2003 ES build and picture thread

Here is my build thread that is almost 8 years in the making now. My direction with this car is to build it the way Mitsubishi should have built it. I wanted to build a car that people can tell is modified and yet still look like it could have came that way from the factory. Even tho my mods are subtle, I filled the car with a lot of top-shelf parts and had shops make me a lot of custom one-off parts.

    Year 2004
Earliest pic I have of my G. I never took a pic of it stock. Fall 2004

    Year 2005

My aftermarket rear speakers were too deep and hit the trunk torsion bars. I had to remove the torsion bars to keep the speakers.

Installed pusher fan. I removed the passenger side fan because the turbo was there. When sitting in traffic in hot weather, sometimes caused the temps to creep up with only 1 fan. After I installed the pusher, it never overheated again.

Transmission oil cooler and tranny temp sensor. I think my tranny is too cool now. Avg tranny temp is 140-160 Oo the highway. It gets to 190 on spirited drives

Me vs phizzalot. Ran 15s untuned on the Evo ECU. I never got to take the HKS setup to the track

My accident going thru Virginia. This is what $7000 in damage looks like. Yay for insurance

Its an ebay (xs power) DSM manifold. Not all DSM manifold fit tho. Some have the first runner bending outward and hit the power steering pump

I would say different tuners and different ablities of each ECU. I dont know what correction factor was on at Billet, but there was zero correction factor at No Limit. Billet Design also spent over 3 hours on the dyno tuning my car where Jestr spent about an hour. With some more tuning time, he might have been able to eek out a few more HP. But I told the Jestr I rather have a reliable car that could sustain long highway runs vs a car with peak HP bragging rights.

fair enough, I just know that the evo ecu is very very capable, we have a lot of stock ecu 600-700 whp evos coming out of english racing here in the northewest, very nice build though, nice to see everything that's happened with the car since you've had it. Any future plans for a dohc swap, or built auto tranny?
