Left the grill chrome for now. Will probably color match it later on.

    Box of goodies arrived today

Did some small maintenance on my car before MOD.

Heat stopped working so had to replace the heater control valve. Also replaced the front + rear motor mount. My old mounts were cracked and replaced them with OEM mounts filled with window weld.

After I replaced the front one first, the steering wheel vibration only went up 5% maybe. Now that I replaced the rear one, the steering wheel vibration is up15% at idle. I also seem to "feel" the engine more in the cabin because of the solid mounts. I wonder how much rougher it would've been if I installed my polyurethane mounts. When the car is moving, I don't feel any extra vibration tho

That's a nice and even cheaper alternative. Good idea!

I was hoping this said 5spd swap =P

car looks great as always bro! don't color match the grill, instead match it by getting the chrome rear trunk garnish; a little bit of chrome accents the car nicely in front and back like the wheel lips from the sides... not too much chrome but just enough to catch the light. have you ever thought about doing the traditional red diamond star badges (pre-'02 mitsu's) for the grill and trunk?

I'll upload new pics at MOD this weekend, but I did swap the rear badge to the red one and i used red electrical tape and to make the front emblem red too

Where did you get the JDM body conversion?

  11. #131
I got them from a member on here who lives in japan. His user name is triggermauve. Also, there are a few sellers on ebay that have been selling the front end conversion

Both cars look great! In the second picture you can see how the IC lines up with the hood lines perfectly!

    Some updates.

My auto tranny finally died a couple of months back. It came unexpected so I was unprepared. It drove funny one day, and next day it died. I had the auto tranny rebuilt with some stronger internals and a higher stall tq converter. Not exactly a racing tranny, but it should last me the rest of the life of the car.

My stock radiator developed a leak on the top. I replaced it with an aluminum radiator from PWR. When cruising, my water temps are 12-15 degrees cooler so its definitely more effective than stock.

I wanted to modify the stock Galant bottom radiator mounts to match the Evo radiator mounting points, so that future Evo radiators could be drop in. However, the Galant front cross member runs right under where the radiator mount needs to be. The shop instead just cut off the bottom pegs and rewelded it to the Galant locations. I also installed a tranny oil cooler and a oil thermostat for it.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the trans rebuild cost you with the upgraded internals? And how's it drive? I ask because I had a coworker who upgraded his auto with a shift kit, and he said it snapped into every gear after that, but it lasted for as long as he kept the car after that.

it cost $1500. I did not add a shift kit tho. Car drives like stock. Tho I haven't tried WOT runs yet to test how it shifts at full RPM.
