    Tranny question

I was supposed to pick up a 99 tranny from keith cuz mine isnt doing the best n the mrs wants to keep it auto but that fell through cuz its too far. Now I may be getting one from another member who is alot closer but this one is also a 99. Now my question is would there be a compatability issue since my G is a 2000 all help would be great thanks. N if I'm not mistaken there are 2 diff part numbers on a 2000 tranny I believe ciz its a split year mine was manufactured in 5/00 n my tranny filter is internal n the 99 is external.

Is yours a v6? From what I've heard, when I replaced my 4cyl transmission, 99-01 share the same transmission and the 02-03 have the same transmission, but they cannot be used across, as the sensors or something are different. So I think the 99 should be good for you, as you're within the same range.

The best thing to do then, go to a dealer, give them your VIN and ask for the Part number for that transmission. Then give Keith's VIN and ask for the part number for that one as well. If they match, well, they fit. That's how I made sure, as mine was off an eclipse.

I was running into this with my brother's car too. He had an '01. All wiring and sensors appear to be the same, and the only difference seems to be the filter. I believe the '99 should work, but I'm not 100% certain. It would only make sense if it did.
