    Tire Stretch

So I want a small stretch on my tires. My wheels are 7.5 in. wide and I was thinking about 215 or 205s but I don't want anything that could be dangerous. Remember this is my dd. What do you guys think would be a safe and good looking stretch?

I like this but it may be a little much of a stretch for me. The site this was on says it was a 9.5 wheel and 225 tire.

    Thanks.

It's going to be really hard to stretch anything bigger than a 195 on a 7.5" wheel its too narrow. 205 and up will not give it a "stretched" look. You can try a 185 or even a 165, but by that time the sidewall will probably have to be super tall.

get wider wheels, i think it would look like your trying too hard with 7.5 inch wheel to make it look "hella flush"

Well i'm really not trying for hella flush. It's more of a rubbing isue than for cosmetics. This is my old tires they are Nittos. The tread width is the same as my wheels. I guess that I'm not really looking for a major stretch. You may not even consider it stretched.

does anyone have 205 or 215s on 7.5s? Thanks again.

My tire is rubbing this and I think that if I do a 215 or 205 tire and a spacer it will push it out far enough to make it stop.

IMO just do a hub adapter/spacer. The bolt on kind. You're rubbing issue is an offset problem.

do you have adjustable coilovers?you can try raising the height in the rear if you do.

    if it's a +48, a 15mm would get it to flush.

I do have coilovers but check my sig. thats as low as I have ever put them and thats not to much lower than stock.

When I get a chance Im going to see how big of a spacer I would need to fix it. But I was thinking that if my tires were a little more rounded they might give me a little more room.

My car is pretty low on my d2's I'm running 235/40/17's on my evoix enkies. The offset is perfect and I could actually fit a 245 tire on there and still clear the knuckle(thats what you are pointing to in the picture)
the tire doesn't stick out of the fender at all, and even on the softest setting my tires never rub the fender.

Just sayin, it can be done. You just need to get your offset right. I'd try spacers before you think about stretching tires. Then I'd try new wheels if it comes to it. Cause once you stretch those tires you can kiss performance and ride quality goodbye, as well as enjoy frequently buying tires.

honestly 205 will not be strached on 7.5, and if your tire is rubbing then spacers could be the solution dont you think?

OR GET SOME SMALLER TIRES if you really want to streach your tires on 7.5 no biggers than 195 please, even 195 i dont think it will streach that much.
My Mk4 is like a Black Hole you enter in it and who the hell knows what'll happen next???
    I sure don't, do you?

it's an offset issue. get some hub adapter and call it a day! No point in stretching tires or getting smaller tires to keep the from rubbing. Those would only be a band aid fix. Even the hub adapter would be a band aid fix. The propr way to get rid of the rubbing is to buy a set of wheels with the right offset.
