    General Question Thread.

Ok I am always thinking of questions about the Galant that are not thread worthy and I don't want to spam the random thoughts thread with them so I thought that we should have a general question thread. So first question.

    1) what's the difference in a radiator for an auto and a manual transmitions?

Btw I think this should be a sticky for all stupid, little, or just simple questions that don't need threads.

some automatic cars has the tranny cooler built into the radiator. most auto cars when going to an upgraded radiator have to get an external transmission cooler. we have an external auto tranny cooler stock.

    2) Does a fan shroud really help all that much? Should I worry with getting one when I get a new radiator?

The shroud is a good thing to have, but with the high speed/volume fans, it doesnt matter. I'd spend money on shroud only if I had extra. I've been running dual slim fans on stock radiator for almost an year w/o problems

Well I'm going to go ahead and get the 2g aluminum. There is one on eBay for about $250 and it comes with dual 12" fans and the shroud. I think thats what I'll get. Ever heard of CXRacing?

yeah, their 16g ebay turbo suck, but i havent heard of radiator complains.

As soon as you get it fill it with water to test it. make sure you buy an item that has at least a week of replacement warranty.

    clearly MHI is better,

Okay I am confused as to why this is a sticky with alot of OT posts... is this a real thread for all general car or did you just want to make this specific to the 7G and if this is supposed to be serious which I think it is a good idea we should probably keep the OT posts in random thoughts...

So 98mgalant since you are the OP let me know...

Ok So i cleaned up the thread of all non contributing posts. Back on topic, and this is a 7g forum so stick with 7g "stuff" discussions

So I want this to be a thread for all the little questions that people have about their 7gs. The questions that are not thread worthy. Like "where is the trunk light located?" or other non thread worthy questions. I see and have them all the time. I intended this thread to be for 7gs only but maybe there should be one for 9,8, and 6gs also. I think that it could cut some of the nonsense threads if people use it. But I was just thinking that maybe it would be better if it were in the problem section. But I don't know about that so it's up to you.

So I'm looking at some camber kits. 2 corners usually means both sides right?

the first one is for the rear upper control arm, it pushes the cotrol arm out and pushes the top of the tire out as well.

the second i have no idea

go on ebay and look up the SPC camber kits, how lowered are you as they have kits for how low you are. check that if you can.

Does anyone know the actual model number for the 7G auto transmission? I know my engine is "4G64", but I can't seem to find a plaque card anywhere on my trans that shows what kind it is.

    It's a '97 galant ES auto. Thanks!
