Yes, some... keep in mind when you use an HID kit higher than 6000k you're already starting to lose light output. So at 8000k you're probably working with a bluish tinted light output rather than more of a pure white that the 5400k-6000k will give you. If you tint your headlights it's just going to take away from the light you already have... how much?... no way of knowing. Each manufacturer of the tint film uses words like "smoke", "charcoal", etc but each one blocks a bit different amount. It's kind of a gamble really... plus you don't know what a bored cop might have to say about tinted headlights.
Personally, if I were going to tint the headlights, I'd swap out the 8000k bulbs for some 6000k to make sure you're getting as much light as possible, but that's just me.
At least if you put the tint on and try them out you can take it off later if you don't like it. You'll be out the money... but at least its easy to take off.
