Cannon plugs. The bane of my existence, we use some about those size on our trains, on the train trucks and other heavy equipment with a lot of signal lines. Some of them are hard as hell to get to on some of the trains but they are a secure, durable, watertight connector and if they are going to be used on the harness of this car, that is ULTRA DOPE!

Basically, he'll use them as a quick disconnect for his engine harness. There is a male and female side, wire the ECU end of the harness to one and the engine side of the harness to the other. Also he can put the cannon plug somewhere easily accessible so it's easy to disconnect and reconnect.

The ones on our trains look similar to this, but larger.

beat me to it lol. the main difference between what you posted and mine is mine is the bayonet locking, its not threaded, so its self locking. and one set is key at n and the other is keyed at 6

I love the bayonet locks, the speed sensor harness on our trains have that and it's so much easier. The main harnesses have the threads though, they are a pain in the ass. And the new trains have square-threaded (the threads' cross-section is square, not pointed like most normal threads) cannon plugs for the traction motor power cables, you need oil-filter wrenches to remove those bastards.

Thats kinda dumb, to make them a square pitch thread, now they aren't going to be interchangable with other brands of the same size shell. Thats why I love bayonet locking, I don't need to use an oil filter wrench to take them off lol. The only draw back with using these cannon plugs is.... I don't have the 4 pin crimper, and I'm not going to pay $300 to get one, so I'll be doing this at work haha...

I read somewhere that powder isn't as good for calipers anyway. Lemme try and dig that up for you guys.

While not definitive, when it comes to brakes, I like to be on the safe side.

I was told you can beat it with a hammer and it won't chip.. Dropped a knuckle that was PC, and it chipped.

I'm not against paint at all but powdercoating is very durable. Smacking them with a hammer will chip them if u hit hard enough, I know that cuz I tested it on a breaker bar I did.

Nonetheless good work with a rattle can I'm definitely impressed with that job.
