you need a oem one? You could just order a 6G72 gasket. They should be the same part

  2. #162
I suppose.. is the 6g72 the same bore as the 74 tb?

The 72 tb gasket is smaller than the 74's opening. You would want the 74's gasket in order to match the bore of the 74 tb.

you will run into problems if you do not use the 74 gasket. not only the bore size but the cuts are different and if not used the tb will leak

hmm, maybe Ill just make one. How has everyone that had a custom down pipe done, get there car to exhuast shop? bolt the turbo on, hook everything up? Or drive there, unbolt everything on the car, and then put the turbo on and then let them do their magic?

Invest in one, you dont need anything fancy. I use an astropower 130 which is a plug and play 110v mig welder w/shielding gas. You can buy a complete setup used from craiglist for about $300 sometimes even less.

ok gotta a couple questions, whats the best area to put a t in for the BOV, between the TB and manifold, on the green or yellow vac lines?

for the oil catch can, ideal installation is in between the PVC valve and mani right?

also for the breather hole on the valve cover, the evo intercooler piping doesn't have a nipple on it to run in back into the intake pipe like a CAI does, obviously cuz its turbo, so can I get a way with using just a filter on that? or do i have to put a nipple on the intake pipe suction side of the turbo? just need those things cleared up for me

Leave the PCV alone, run the breather from the valve cover to the catch can and the catch can back into the intake before the turbo. You need to put a nipple on the intake pipe suction side. You could just vent the valve cover to the catch can then vent the catch can to atmosphere. I actually need to put a PCV back on my car because my oil gets way too dirty from excess fuel since there is no crankcase vacuum when the car isnt in boost.

ok so this would be the correct way to hook a BOV yes? anything after the TB plate on the mani side so that way when it closes its on the vac side, in turn actuating the valve in the BOV to release the pressure on the intercooler pipe yes?

So I looked at the bottom front support of the car, where the crossmember bolts onto, and its flat on the front, but sort of dishes behind, so I got to thinking, would self tapping screws or bolts be enough to hold the intercooler? or are people just sending a bolt through and through and tightning with a nut on the other side?

Thats what I did. My intercooler is actually mounted to the back of the crash bar. I drilled two holes about 3/4" in the front of the bar all the way thru to the back, then I opened up the front holes to about 1" so I can get the a socket on an extension through there to tighten the bolt.

Ok so I'm getting ready to hook everything up, but I got to looking at a map, and I was curious how can I make this safer, or better, because to me I don't think that that map for fuel should be that rich. Bear with me here as I have never tuned before in my life, but if I take everything slow it should be ok, but would this be decent enough for a daily driver?

ECUFlash is like chinese to me. I've always used a standalone so I dont have much experience with that. SPD FRK and Deeznuts would probably be better at answering this.
