    Chip? (4 cyl)

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and to Galants. I just got my 2003 ES 4cyl on the road yesterday. I am not much of a mechanic and am looking for a chip that I can install with relative ease. I don't need a $300 chip because I will most likely not be upgrading the heads, exhaust, etc. I am just looking for a gain of maybe 20-30 horse power for a bit more pep getting on the highways and red lights. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!

Welcome! 5 speed swap, with a cold air intake or ram, and a 6g72 TB will get you that 20 hp, maybe with just the 5 speed. As far as the chip goes.. personally, if I wanted to chip a car, I wouldn't, I would dyno it, and tune the ecu itself.

No chip. Tune your ecu. Flash.
5 speed and other mods like outlander intake mani with a v6 tb. Will gain some hp. Some headers and catback. Thats just nice small hp upgrades.
